LeBouef tapped for LAMP board

Lafourche Parish’s Public Library Director Susanna LeBouef has been appointed to serve on the board of directors for the Louisiana Management Pool Inc. (LAMP).

The appointment was announced at the board’s annual meet in mid-October.

The board is comprised of elected or appointed public officials statewide.

LAMP is available to any Louisiana public entity. The management pool is a cooperation to enhance performance in the investment of public funds. It provides a level of money management for large or small municipal or parish entities. LAMP has a Standard & Poor’s rating of Triple Am.

State Treasurer John Kennedy serves as LAMP’s president.

The board governs 619 participants with a $2.2 billion investment.

LeBouef has more than 40 years experience as a librarian. She holds a master’s degree in library science, which she earned from Louisiana State University. In addition, she is certified as a State of Louisiana public library director.

LeBouef became a director of Lafourche Parish Public Libraries in February 2008.

“My experiences have always involved service through libraries,” she said. “To be appointed to this board will provide two opportunities for me: to bring my expertise from working with the citizens of our community helping them meet their needs and to be a spokesperson for libraries and its integral role in society. This is a great honor for me and for Louisiana’s public libraries.”

“Returning to Louisiana has been a goal of mine ever since Hurricane Katrina displaced me to the Nashville, Tennessee area,” Matherne said. “My family and friends are deep rooted in and around the tri-parish area, this makes it even more rewarding to return home and, especially, become a member of TGMC’s dedicated family. I am humbled, grateful and honored to be a part of the Houma community.”
