Brenda G. Hansen, of the Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

The American College is the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders. Fellow status represents achievement of the highest standard of professional development. Only 5,400 healthcare executives in the country hold this distinction.

To earn Fellow status, candidates must fulfill several requirements, including passing a comprehensive exam covering 10 healthcare management areas, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating professional/community involvement.

A TRMC employee since 1995, Hansen is a member of the hospital’s executive team. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology at Louisiana State University and a master’s degree in education at Nicholls State University.

Hansen is a published author in the Journal for Healthcare Quality, and is a board member of the Bayou Region Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the The Cure.
