Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 300,539. That’s 823 more cases since yesterday. 274,781 are confirmed; 25,758 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 45 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,336 deaths. 6,980 are confirmed; 356 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 12/21/20 is 247,501, which is 14,776 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting 5,975 cases. There are 5,187 confirmed and 788 probable. That’s 47 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 161 deaths; 153 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 12-Dec. 16 is 8.70%, down 13.00% from the week prior, which was 10.00%.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 5,838 cases. There are 5,295 confirmed and 543 probable. That’s 19 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 147 deaths; 141 are confirmed and 6 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 10-Dec. 16 is 10.50%, up 31.30% from the week prior, which was 8.00%.

 

Statewide, there are 1,597 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 201 are on ventilators. That’s 67 more patients since yesterday, and 10 more on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,278,077, which is 5,878 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,082,406 molecular tests and 195,671 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 77,488 tests in Lafourche (72,368 molecular and 5,120 antigen) and 75,076 tests in Terrebonne (71,559 molecular and 3,517 antigen). That’s 214 more tests in Lafourche and 137 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
