Is your teen a math whiz? Science genius or arts standout?

Representatives with the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts will be in Houma Oct. 20 sharing information about the school. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Office Board Room at the Terrebonne Parish School Board, 201 Stadium Drive. Prospective applicants and parents are invited to attend.

Located in Natchitoches, the Louisiana School is the only state-funded residential high school for high achieving, highly motivated sophomores, juniors and seniors. Entry is open to all schools, public, private and parochial, as well as home schooled. Classes are college level and include an extensive curriculum.

Students at the Blue Ribbon High School receive college credit for certain general education courses, including English, history, languages and math and sciences. The scope of the courses and number of semester hours of credit vary from institution to institution.
