The MAX Charter School in Thibodaux has opened its enrollment sector for the 2010-2011 school year.

The charter school, which is for dyslexia and other related learning differences, will be accepting enrollment applications until March 1. School officials say they have opening for a limited number of students in grades 1st through 8th.

According to school records, the charter school services more than 100 students, with nearly 50 on the waiting list.

The tuition-free charter school opened in 2007 on the Nicholls State University campus. The school is the only one of its kind in the Tri-parish area. School leaders say its staff is dedicated to teaching young students with learning difference.
