A man awaiting trial on an aggravated rape charge is facing new charges, including simple battery for throwing his feces at fellow inmates, authorities said.
Incidents early last week at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex resulted in eight counts of storing contraband in a correctional center against inmate Frank Fowler, 37, Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said. Deputies found a homemade weapon, feces in a bottle, additional shaving razors, a lighter and items to make tattoos among the contraband, the sheriff said.
Fowler was charged with two counts of simple battery the next day, after he lobbed feces on two inmates, Larpenter said.
