The Judges of the 32nd Judicial District Court have announced that Mr. William Dunckelman will be retiring from his position of Hearing Officer for the IV-D Child Support Program after 25 years of service.

“Mr. Dunckelman held the position for over twenty-five years and has done an excellent job in initiating and administering the program for the courts and for the citizens of Terrebonne Parish,” reads an official press release from Randall L. Bethancourt, Chief Judge of the 32nd Judicial District Court. “We thank him for his leadership and wish him the best during his retirement. The position of Hearing Officer for the IV-D Child Support Program will be assumed by Ms. Joan M. Malbrough of Houma.

“I started this job in April of 1998– it’s a program that I really have enjoyed,” said Dunckelman. “I am forever indebted to my judges for permitting me to be on the bench and do this job. My whole focus has always been that it’s not about the mom and dad, it’s about the child, and I am going to make sure to the best of my ability that these children are cared for, provided for, and loved. It has been a very rewarding experience.”

In addition to his career in law, Dunckelman also serves as a Deacon at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church in Houma. Dunckelman expressed that in his retirement, he is looking forward to spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, and continuing to serve his church.

Congratulations to Mr. Dunckelman for the closing chapter of an incredible career!
