Two New Orleans area men were arrested Monday night for selling drugs from a Galliano residence, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.

Marvierick Jones, 23, of 4012 Annunciation St., and Michael D. Holmes, 27, of 2429 Alex Korman Boulevard, Harvey, were arrested on drug charges after agents with the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force received a tip the men were selling crack cocaine from 191 West 177th St. According to the agents, the owner, Adrian J. Theriot, 35, knew about the drug sales.

Jones and Holmes left the residence while agents were waiting for a search warrant to be signed by a judge. The two were arrested after a traffic stop on West 164th Street was conducted, the sheriff’s office said.

Jones was charged with being a principal to distribution of Schedule II drugs (crack cocaine), and Holmes was charged with distribution of Schedule II drugs (crack cocaine). Almost $5,000 in cash was recovered from the two men.

A warrant was executed at Theriot’s residence, but not before the task force agents made partial entry into the wrong house.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Larry Weidel said the agents apologized for the mistake and agreed to have a damaged screen door repaired. A supervisor was also called to the scene; he also apologized for the error.

Weidel said a corrective review was ordered and Internal Affairs may take disciplinary action against the agents responsible for entering the wrong house.

“Sheriff (Craig) Webre said a review of the police will be undertaken and safeguards will be put in place to assure this does not happen again,” Weidel said.

Agents did execute a warrant at Theriot’s residence. He was charged with possession of cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia; manufacturing crack cocaine; principal to distribution of Schedule drugs; contempt of court; and operating a dwelling for narcotic use.

Jones and Holmes bonded out of the Lafourche Parish Detention Center, the sheriff’s office said. Theriot remains in jail in lieu of $200,000 in bonds set by Judge Jerome Barbara. A hold has also been placed on the Galliano man by Probation and Parole.
