Nicholls State University has found its replacement for Dr. Bruce Murphy.
The Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System announced late Tuesday that Dr. Jay Clune has been picked as Nicholls’ next president, a job he will begin at the start of 2018.
Clune was one of six semifinalists for the job and one of three finalists who interviewed with the Board on Tuesday in Baton Rouge.
The other finalists were Dr. John Doucet, the current Nicholls College of Arts and Sciences dean and Dr. Marcheta Evans, who is the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Our Lady of the Lake University.
Clune is a Nicholls alum and is currently the Interim Dean at the University of West Florida.
