The Nicholls State University baseball program announced the 2024 schedule which features 55 games.
The non-conference slate includes matchups with in-state foes as well as big out of state competition. Nicholls will play five non-conference three game series and eight Southland Conference series.
The Colonels begin the season at home in a three-game series against Sacred Heart on Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field on Feb. 16-18. Later in the month, Nicholls will battle Southern Miss at MGM Park in Biloxi, Mississippi on Feb.27.
The defending SLC Champions will begin league play at home against UNO on March 22-24 and conclude the regular season with a trio of home games against McNeese on May 16-18.
Nicholls will play home and home single games against Tulane and Louisiana Tech, as well as road games against Louisiana (April 2) and the defending National Champions LSU (April 23). The Colonels stunned the Tigers in Baton Rouge last season, winning 6-5 in dramatic fashion.
Additionally, the Red & Gray will host Eastern Illinois (Feb. 23-25), Southern (March 1-3) and Grambling (March 8-10). The Colonels will also battle Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska on March 15-17.
