Senator baffled by Obama’s view on La. oil
July 1, 2010The Nicholls Board of Regents approved the construction of a campus recreation facility and activities program last Thursday.
“Certainly this is welcome news for our students, faculty and staff,” said university president Stephen Hulbert. “I am pleased that Nicholls is one step closer to no longer being the only University of Louisiana System institution without a recreation center.”
By a 79 percent vote, students passed the referendum April 21 to provide the necessary funds to construct the facility.
Administrators are planning a groundbreaking ceremony for late fall 2010, and construction is slated to begin in December 2010 with an anticipated completion date some time in fall 2012.
