Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 293,934. That’s 2,976 more cases since yesterday. 268,984 are confirmed; 24,950 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 68 new deaths, bringing the total to 7,226 deaths. 6,877 are confirmed; 349 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 12/21/20 is 247,501, which is 14,776 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting 5,881 cases. There are 5,123 confirmed and 758 probable. That’s 41 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 159 deaths; 151 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 12-Dec. 16 is 8.70%, down 13.00% from the week prior, which was 10.00%.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 5,635 cases. There are 5,104 confirmed and 531 probable. That’s 62 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 146 deaths; 140 are confirmed and 6 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 10-Dec. 16 is 10.50%, up 31.30% from the week prior, which was 8.00%.

 

Statewide, there are 1,675 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 196 are on ventilators. That’s 28 more patients since yesterday, and 15 more on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 4,215,096, which is 32,817 more tests than yesterday. There are 4,025,516 molecular tests and 189,580 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 76,082 tests in Lafourche (71,077 molecular and 5,005 antigen) and 73,429 tests in Terrebonne (69,954 molecular and 3,475 antigen). That’s 426 more tests in Lafourche and 450 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
