Public meeting scheduled for recreation planning

Recreation planning needs input from residents. In turn, the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government will host a public meeting to address long term planning of recreational facilities in Terrebonne Parish.

The meeting will be held Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. in the Houma Municipal Auditorium at 880 Verret St.

This is a public workshop and one step in developing a long-term strategic recreation planning efforts for Terrebonne Parish, according to spokesman Chris Pulaski.

The goal of the workshop is to identify recreational needs and desires of residents.

The meeting will include a short presentation from recreation design experts. Residents are encouraged to provide specific feedback on desired programs and facilities.

Along with projecting long-term recreation needs, participants will be asked for specific feedback as it relates to the proposed Master Plan for the proposed Terrebonne Parish Community Park.
