Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man working as a janitor at the Cut Off Youth Center for violating the sex offender law.

According to LPSO spokesman Larry Weidel, deputies arrested Huey John Hue, 44, of Lot 20/23, East 178th St., Golden Meadow, Friday without incident. He was wanted on a warrant for violation of the sex offender law and for failure to report a change of address. The warrant, issued by state District Judge Walter Lanier Jr., carries a bond of $10,000.

Hue’s employment at the youth center is a direct violation of state law, Weidel said. His employer was unaware of the violation.

Hey admitted he had moved to Lafourche Parish and failed to report his change of address. He also admitted to working with 12- and 15-year-old juveniles assigned to complete community service hours.

He was booked at the South Lafourche Sub-station and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux.
