Three area citizens died in separate crashes between Thursday and Monday, according to state police.

A Cut Off woman died early Monday in a single vehicle crash in Lafourche Parish, according to state police

At approximately 2 a.m., Carla Crochet, 45, was driving her 2005 Toyota Tundra north on La. 3235 in Galliano when she left the road, said Trooper First Class Rodney Hyatt, spokesman for Louisiana Troop C. She overcorrected her truck, which sent it into the median where it began to overturn. As the overturning truck crossed the median and southbound lanes of La. 3235, Crochet was ejected from the cab of the truck.

Crochet, who was the only occupant in the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene by Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office. She was not wearing her seat belt, according to state police.

Hyatt said alcohol use is unknown at this time; however, as per state law, blood will be drawn from Crochet and sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

Trooper Ben Thibodeaux is investigating the crash and currently there are no charges pending.

A local Montegut teenager died Friday in a single vehicle crash on La. 55 in Terrebonne Parish.

Hyatt said at approximately 7 p.m., Larry Dombrowski, 18, of Montegut, was driving a 1997 Ford Thunderbird north on La. 55 when he entered a slight right curve and the vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

Acadian Ambulance transported Dombrowski to Terrebonne General Medical Center. He received moderate injuries in the crash, according to state police.

Dombrowski’s brother, who was in the front passenger seat, Raymond Dombrowski, 13, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office.

Hyatt said the 18-year-old’s daughter, Adrianna Carroll, 1, of Montegut, received what appeared to be minor injuries and was transported to TGMC as well.

According to state police, neither front seat passengers were wearing their safety belts. However, Carroll was properly restrained in an appropriate child safety seat device.

Alcohol is not suspected. But as per state law, blood was drawn from Larry Dombrowski and sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

Master Trooper Feddrick Thomas is investigating and charges in the crash are pending.

A Thibodaux woman died Thursday evening after her 1996 Honda Civic failed to yield at a stop sign and a flashing red light and was struck by an oncoming SUV.

State police reported Mary Delabretonne, 60, of Thibodaux, was traveling north on Holiday Drive in the Thibodaux Country Club when she failed to stop. As she crossed La. 648 Spur (Percy Brown Road), the Civic was hit in the driver’s side door by an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Suburban being driven by Nicole Hebert, 32, of Raceland.

Acadian Ambulance transported Delabretonne, the lone passenger in the Civic, to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center for treatment. State police said she later died at the hospital.

Hebert, who was also traveling alone, received only minor injuries in the crash and refused medical treatment.

According to state police, both women were wearing their safety belts.

Hyatt said it is unknown if alcohol consumption was a factor in the crash. Blood was drawn from Delabretonne and forwarded to the state police crime lab for analysis, he said.

Hebert submitted to a breath test, the results of which were .000g percent.

Hyatt said no charges are pending in the crash, which is still under investigation.
