Trio attempt to rob Houma man at knife-point

A 27-year-old Houma man was alarmed to find three black men standing in his yard early Wednesday. He was even more stunned when one of the men brandished a knife and demanded money.


Houma Police are searching for the trio.

The incident occurred at 1:04 a.m. near Coach Street in East Houma, police said.


The victim told police when he walked out of his house, the trio were standing in the yard. One of the men asked him for directions, at which time the victim told them he did not know what they were talking about. The victim said that’s when one of the men pulled the knife and demanded cash. After he gave them some money, the trio began running down Plum Street to Main and onto Louise Street.

The victim chased them until he lost sight of them on Louise Street, he told officers.

According to the victim’s description, one of the men had braided hair and was wearing a black shirt and blue jean shorts. A second man was bald. He was wearing a white shirt with stone-washed shorts. The third man was also bald, and was wearing a tank top and shorts.
