A national TV show will feature a prominent local murder on Monday night.

Vanity Fair will profile the murder of Houma man Robert LeCompte on Investigation Discovery – a network dedicated to profiling and discussing high-profile crime events that have taken place throughout the world.

LeCompte was killed in 2009 at the Drama Club after closing the bar for the evening.

After a lengthy investigation, authorities identified Jorrel Young as a suspect, eventually taking him into custody and charging him with murder.

The circumstances surrounding the murder were chronicled in detail in The Times, from the murder and all the way through the trial, which ended in a guilty verdict being laid onto Young, who is now in Angola State Prison.

John DeSantis, our senior staff writer, covered the case throughout, earning awards for his in-depth coverage of the events.

DeSantis is interviewed and featured in the TV show, which will air at 8 p.m. on Monday night.
