Pet goats have gotten a Houma woman in trouble.

Police say Donna Olivier received a misdemeanor summons for failing to restrain animals after her goats escaped from her yard and allegedly ate the neighbor’s plants.

Police weren’t able to say how many goats got loose. A neighbor caught one, they said, and tied it to a tree.

Sgt. Dana Coleman says complaints like this are unusual.

But Coleman says animals need to be restrained or confined or, at the very least, on a leash.
