Abel Joseph Norman Sr., 94, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, La., died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011.
Mr. Norman was a World War II veteran who loved playing his steel guitar and writing poetry.
He is survived by his sons, Abel Jr., David and Michael (Iva) Norman; daughters, Mary (Eugene) Marceaux and Martha (Jimmy) Smilie; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Norman; parents, Abel and Lillie Norman; sisters, Mabel and Florence Norman; and grandson, Philip Marceaux.
Burial with full military honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad was at Morgan City Cemetery. (Twin City)
