Albert Simmons Jr., 56, a native of Montegut, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, July 29.


He is survived by his wife, Nedra Thomas Simmons of Houma; two sons, Albert Simmons III and Davyonne Thomas, both of Houma; one daughter, Lekaya Simmons of Houma; and two brothers, Alfred Simmons and wife Karen of Baton Rouge, La., and Joseph Simmons and wife Carolyn of Gray, La.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Josephine Williams Simmons; and two sons, Trond Smith and Kendrell Smith.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and was Baptist.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, at St. Peter Baptist Church with a religious service to follow. He will be buried at Southdown Cemetery.

Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
