Alberta Toups Boveland, 95, a native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Ferncrest Manor in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Mrs. Boveland is survived by six sons, George (Celina) Love Jr. of Killeen, Texas, Kenneth Bell of New Orleans, Gerald Boveland of Atlanta, Georgia, Wilson (Catherine) Boveland of New Orleans, Larry (Gail) Boveland of Thibodaux and Hezekiah Boveland of New Orleans; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wheaton of Raceland; and a host of other relatives.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivory and Oliva Toups; sons, Mitch and Edmond Boveland; daughter, Jacquelyne Boveland; and brother, Edward Toups Sr.

Religious services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Johnson Ridge, Thibodaux. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Ivory and Oliva Toups; 2 sons, Mitch and Edmond Boveland; 1 daughter, Jacquelyne B. Boveland; 1 brother, Edward Toups Sr.
