Alma F. Dufrene, 89, a native and resident of Houma, LA., died at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews; one son-in-law, Wilfred Pellegrin; six grandchildren, Carmella Strickland and husband, William, Nyla Prestenbach and husband, Kevin, Timothy Pellegrin, Nedra Dufrene, Eric Pellegrin, Lucius Dufrene and wife, Crystal; 12 great-grandchildren, Jenny Callais and husband, Eric, William Daniel Strickland and wife, Natasha, Kevin Prestenbach Jr., Ashley Voisin and husband ,Andy, Megan Burson and husband, Josh, Eva Prestenbach, Lindsey Dufrene, Sharlie Pellegrin, Jarrett Pellegrin, Katelyn Dufrene, Nicky Poirier and Brandon Poirier; and two great-great-grandchildren, Bastian Callais and Kyle Burson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucius John Dufrene; her parents, Gilbert and Ella Boudreaux Fanguy; one son, Emery Dufrene; one daughter, Mercedes Pellegrin; one brother, Howard Fanguy; and eight sisters, Mable Dupre, Flavia LeBoeuf, Libby Jones, Jeanette Lirette, Nabi Glynn, Lucille Ledet, Emillie LeBoeuf and Edith Fanguy.
She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
