Alvin Harding Sr., 87, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Terrebonne Parish, La., died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011.
Mr. Harding was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons, Alvin Jr., James, Glenn and Warren Harding; daughters, Joyce Allen, Joan Short and Sylvia Harding; brother, Haywood Harding; sisters, Velma Ellis, Hazel Franklin and Helen Lyons; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Harding; parents, Henry Sr. and Ollie Harding; brothers, Edward, Freddie, Earl and Henry Harding Jr.; and sisters, Leola and Alma Harding and Albertha Howard.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at New First Corinthian Baptist Church in Houma with funeral services to follow. Burial will be at St. Luke Cemetery in Dularge, La. (Community)
