Alvin Joseph Livas, 49, a native and resident of Schriever, La., died Wednesday, March 11, at 10 p.m.

He is survived by his brothers, Minister Clarence Livas and wife Diane, Donald J. Livas and wife Melinda of Houma, La., and John A. Livas of Schriever; sisters, Joyce M. Noble of New Orleans, La., Mable M. Chatman and husband Lloyd of Houma, and Gale M. Celestin and husband the Rev. Donald Celestin Sr. of Schriever; and a devoted sister-in-law, Brenda Livas.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Josh Sr. and Rosa Livas; brothers, Josh Livas Jr., Henry Lee Livas Sr. and Harvey Lynn Livas; and grandparents, Rosie and Lee Livas Sr. and Mable and Henry Howard.

He was Baptist.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 20, at First Baptist Church in Schriever with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
