Amelia Marie Billiot Sanchez, 66, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Raceland, La., died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010.
She is survived by her sons, Edward Jr. (Mickie), Daniel (Connie), Ricky (Amy) and Stanley Sanchez; daughters, Ethel and Pearl Sanchez and Lisbeth (Barry) Buquet; brothers, Joseph Sr., Horace and Roy Billiot; sisters, Marguerite, Amelie and Vivian Billiot and Rita Descant; 25 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sanchez Sr.; parents, Lawrence and Marie Agatha Billiot; brother, Lawrence Billiot Jr.; and one grandson.
She was a retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and a member of the Lockport Kingdom Hall. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She worked hard at all she did and was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at St. Hilary Church Cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
