Andrew Waldon Pitre, 78, a native of Lafourche Crossing, LA. and resident of Houma, LA., died at 7 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2007.


Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., today and 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home.


Masonic services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel with burial in the St. Lawrence Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Colyer Schexneyder Pitre of Houma; one son, Carl Anthony Pitre and his wife, Judy, of Dallas, TX.; one daughter, Paula Ann Pitre Hebert and her husband, Sidney, of Chacahoula, LA.; two stepdaughters, Judy Beeson and her husband, Tommy, of Houma and Joyce Crochet of Thibodaux, LA.; five brothers, Jesse Pitre and Russel John Pitre of Thibodaux, Joseph Reynold Pitre of Schriever, LA., Kermit Paul Pitre of French Settlement, LA. and Milfred Luke Pitre of Donner, LA.; one grandchild; seven step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alberta Marie Sampey Pitre; his parents, Wilfred John Pitre and Lillian Marie Zeringue Pitre; one grandson, Daniel Murphy; two brothers, Royce Joseph Pitre and Shelby Andrew Pitre and one sister, Lou Bell Pitre Bourgeois.

He was a retired iron worker with J. Ray McDermott and Raymond Fabricators of Avondale. He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War, past worshipful master of Walter I. Lanier Lodge 307 1980 and past master and member of Unity Lodge 267.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
