Lafourche jail tax set for Saturday as inmate, officer risks linger

Angelo “Jutz” Papa, 94, a resident of Schriever, La., died Sunday, April 27, 2014.


Mr. Papa was a loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather and devoted husband. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who always made others feel comfortable with his warm smile and wonderful sense of humor. He was a bartender for more than 60 years, a carpenter and practicing gunsmith. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed the sunshine, quiet waters and ice chests full of fish.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores Papa; children, Byron and Randy Papa and JoAnn Sullivan; three brothers; one sister; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincenzo and Justin Papa; brothers, George, Charley, Sam and Vincent Papa; and sisters, Anna Mae Totina, Sarah Gabb and Lucille Papa.


Visitation will be 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at Thibodaux Funeral Home with services to follow. (Thibodaux)
