Autry “Gene” Cheramie, 70, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Thursday, March 24, 2011.


Mr. Cheramie was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.


He is survived by his sons, Scott, Audie and Chuck Cheramie; daughters, Tina Guidry and Angela Cheramie; brothers, Danny “Boggie” (Pauline) and Harold (Lee Anne) Cheramie; sisters, Verna Theriot and Rowena (Antoine “Toto”) Chauvin; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odon Varis and Mary Mae Gisclair Cheramie; and one sister, Shirley Cheramie Vasquez.

He is buried at Cheramie Cemetery. (Samart-Mothe)
