Barbara Ann Dupre Comeaux, 69, a native of Simmons Pass, La., and resident of Amelia, La., died Tuesday, July 2, 2013.


Mrs. Comeaux loved spending time with her family and being outdoors tending to her plants or going fishing at the camp. She was the owner and operator of Comeaux’s Restaurant in Amelia for many years where she enjoyed taking care of her customers. In her recent years, she loved her Friday outings when she would go get her hair fixed and stop and eat at the Waffle House before going back home.

She is survived by her husband, Huey Comeaux Sr.; daughters, Penny (Stanley) Burney, Angela (Craig) Legendre and Darlene (Huey) Ohmer; sisters, Catherine (Edward) Colee and Mary Palmature; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Aelena Dupre; son, Huey Comeaux Jr.; sisters, Thelma Kennerson, Martha Bowen, Eve Kidd, Lydia Dupre and Velma Scully; and one grandchild.


Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Twin City Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Entombment will be at the church cemetery. (Twin City)
