Barbara Braud Talbot, 82, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Napoleonville, La., died peacefully at home with her children by her side Monday, December 29, 2008 at 6:12 p.m.

She is survived by her son, Aubert D. Jr. and wife Sue Talbot of Napoleonville; three daughters, Sherryl Talbot and Bobby Simoneaux, Gayle Talbot and Wayne Boudreaux, and Stacey Talbot and Jonathan Comeaux, all of Napoleonville; son-in-law, Michael J. Small and wife Rosalyn of Napoleonville; sister, Kathleen Braud Neubauer of Lafayette, La.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubert “Bert” Talbot; her parents, Maurice “Brother” Braud Jr. and Lucille Breaux Braud; and daughter, Bobbie Lee Talbot Small.

In 1944, she graduated from Thibodaux High School and then moved to Lafayette, where she attended S.L.I., now known as University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was married to “Bert” Talbot in 1948 and lived in Baton Rouge, La., until she graduated from LSU Law School. They moved to Napoleonville where they raised five children. She will be remembered as a loving mother and devoted housewife. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed being at home in her kitchen entertaining friends and family.

She was buried at St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery in Napoleonville.

Landry’s Funeral Home in Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
