Beatrice “Bea” Porche Ledet, 87, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, April 19.


She is survived by her sons, Wilson J. Ledet Jr. of Broussard, La., and Richard J. Ledet of Baton Rouge, La.; daughters, Barbara A. Hebert of Houma, Bonnie “Jean” Franklin of Houma and Tina Ledet of Houma; sisters, Nettie Ann Porche Chauvin of Houma and Althea Ann “Bookie” Porche Conner of South Boston, Va.; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson J. Ledet Sr.; parents, Albert J. and Nettie B. Porche; son, Leonard S. Ledet; brothers, Liley J. Porche, William P. “Bill” Porche, Herbert P. Porche and Elsey J. Porche; and sisters, Lillian Ann Porche Lirette, Leona Marie Porche Hebert, Lucy Marie Porche Dupre, Lottie Marie Porche Puge and Enola Ann Porche Thibodaux.

She was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
