Bella Pitre Brunet, 88, a native and resident of Galliano, La. died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 3:19 a.m.


She is survived by her sons, Elton “Ko-Ko” Brunet and wife, Ena, Levy “L.J.” Brunet Jr. and wife, Reba, and Pastor Dr. Dennis Brunet and wife, Rebekah; daughter, Linda Brunet; brother, Etienne Pitre; sister, Bessie Barrios; grandchildren, Duane Brunet and wife, Amy, Monique Pitre and husband, Jody, Cherise Swander and husband, Stephen, Ron Brunet and wife, Desiree, Dawn Orgeron and husband, Trent, Angela Mott and husband, Gareth, Hannah, Elizabeth, Ethan, Sarah, Lydiah, Micah, Leah Beth and Isaac Brunet; and great-grandchildren, Katie and Allie Brunet, Gavin, Grant, and Caroline Pitre, Stephen, David and Camille Swander, Andrea Brunet, Carson Orgeron, Isabella and Emelie Mott and Landon Brunet.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Levy Brunet Sr.; her parents, Duard and Blanche Charpentier Pitre; son, Teddy “Boy” Brunet; brother, Gilbert Pitre; and sisters, Aline Vegas and Blaize Alfrey.

Bella was a carver, artist, businesswoman, valedictorian of her graduating class of 1930 and fed untold hundreds at her dinner table.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, La. and 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Community Bible Church in Cut Off with a religious service to follow. She will be buried in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
