Bernice Pradd Wallace, 92, a native of Shreveport, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Saturday, May 2.


She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Malcolm and husband Philip of Thibodaux, and Beatrice Lawrence and husband Lukata of Oklahoma City, Okla.; son, Lloyd Wallace Jr. and wife Lonnie of Mission Hills, Calif.; sisters, Thelma Pruitt of Claremont, Calif., and Cora Lee Hall of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lloyd H. Wallace Sr.; parents, Ananias Sr. and Suzie Pradd; brother Ananias Pradd Jr.; and sisters, Ethel Porter and Beatryce Smock.


She was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was also a member of American Legion Post # 513 Auxiliary of Thibodaux. Her hobbies included beautician, crochet, knitting and decoupage.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lloyd H. Wallace Memorial Library C/O Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Moses Baptist Church Cemetery in Thibodaux.

Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
