Bertha Mae Valentine-Singleton, 63, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., died at her home Friday, Feb. 12, 2010.

She is survived by sons, Kevin and Keith Singleton, both of Morgan City; daughter, Tina Marie Wilcher of Hattiesburg, Miss.; brothers, Wilbert Jr. of Lafayette, Larry and Calvin Valentine, and Leonard and Auther Escort, all of Morgan City; sisters, Vida Mae Banks of Brookhaven, Miss., Iola Davis of Houston, Texas, and Shirley Penn of Morgan City; brother-in-law, Willie P. Banks of Brookhaven, Miss.; sister-in-law, Connie Escort of Morgan City; one uncle, one aunt; seven grandchildren; four adopted grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.


She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and an aunt.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Church of Christ on Railroad Avenue. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Valentine-Singleton will be buried at Morgan City Cemetery.
