Bill Roger Wilson, 78, a former resident of Morgan City, La., and current resident of Prairieville, La., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.

Mr. Wilson was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by Texaco for 30 years and retired as division manager in 1992. He was on the United Way of South Louisiana board of directors and was a member of the American Petroleum Institute Board, Lakewood Foundation Board, vice chairman of the Lakewood Hospital Board and chairman of the Morgan City Civil Service Board. He was an ordained deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was an avid LSU fan and member of the Gridiron Club and Tiger Athletic Foundation. He loved fishing, traveling, spending time with his family and had a passion for football.


He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy Wilson; daughters, Vicki (Clay) Briehn and Cissy Wilson; sister, Marilyn (Billy) Jones; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxie and Opal Wilson, and son, Kenneth Wilson.

Visitation will be 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Parkview Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, La., and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City with services to follow. Burial with military honors will be at Morgan City Cemetery. (Hargrave)
