Della Marie Dantin Margiotta, 93, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of New Orleans, La., died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.


Mrs. Margiotta was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and was retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. She was very active in the 250th Battalion Reunion Group as well as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6640, Orleans Salon 8&40 Ladies Auxiliary, Shieks of Arabi Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary Post 175 Ladies Unit.


She is survived by her brother, Bobbie Dantin; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aloysius Margiotta; parents, Wilfred and Celame Dantin; brothers, Jules and Bruce Dantin; and sisters, Mabel Bourgeois, Vivian Adams, Clothilde Maureaux, Jeannette Daigle, Juliette Chaisson and Bernice Dantin.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery. (Chauvin)
