Brenda Mae Griffin, 64, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died Saturday, June 7, at 9:30 p.m.


She is survived by her sons, Farrell Lafont, and Luderie “Poodie” Lafont Jr.; daughter, Rebecca Lafont; brother, James Griffin; sisters, Elma Avery, Emily Mayet, Erlene Crosby and Jeanette Orgeron; and three grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Henrietta Lafont and Adam “T-Barree” Lafont; brothers, Forest and Sherman Griffin; and sister, Barbara Theriot.

She was an avid card player and past member of the Ladied Auxillary. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, and 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.

Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of the arrangements.
