Calvin Castle Sr., 93, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010.
Mr. Castle was Baptist and a member of New Salem Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing his guitar.
He is survived by his sons, Calvin Jr. (Doris), William, Clyde, Larry, Albert, Alvin, Freddie (Margie) and Kevin (Janet) Castle; daughters, Marion James, Betty Cannon, Joyce (Glynn) Matthews and Lillie (Rodney) Jolivette; sister, Gladys Ellzey; 55 grandchildren; 101 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leola Lyons Castle; parents, Charles Jr. and Florence Mack Castle; son, Sonny Boy Castle; brothers, Wilbert, Albert, Issac, Joe, Louis and Charles Castle; sisters, Mildred Volter, Annie Brooks, Mattie Bateast, Handy Beasley, Mary Castle and Catherine Jones; and grandparents, Charlie Sr. and Missie Castle.
He is buried at Southdown Cemetery.
