Carnell “Dukey” James Sr., 46, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, March 24.


He is survived by his father, Joseph Cooks of New Orleans, La.,; his mother, Rose Mary James of Thibodaux; sons, Derone Robinson and Bryan Dickerson of Thibodaux and Cornell James Jr. of Hahnville, La.; daughters, Latonya James and Alaina Washington of Thibodaux; brothers, Gilbert Williams and Mark Anthony Willis of Houston, Tx.; sisters, Tiffany Dickerson of Houston, Germaine James, Denetria James, Patrice James of Thibodaux and Lashawn James of Houma, La.; and one grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his brother, Shawn James.

He was Baptist.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
