Carrol Callais, 69, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died Friday, May 30, at 8:09 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Earline Pinell Callais; sons, Keith Guidry, Dwayne Callais, Wayne Callais and Chad Callais and wife Amy; daughter, Lydia Wilks; brother, Harris Callais; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Octave Sr. and Lydia Guidry Callais; daughter, Becky Lynn Callais; brothers, Octave Callais Jr., Cleophas Callais, Calvin Callais, Harold Callais, Leroy Callais and Vhores Cheramie; and sisters, Delta Compeaux and Octavia Cuneo.
He was a U.S. Vietnam veteran and a lifetime member of DAV.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 1, and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday June 2, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. He will be buried at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
