Carroll “Uncle” “Paran” Breaux, 84, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Raceland, La., died Friday, September 26, at 5:02 p.m.


He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eve Robichaux Breaux, and sister, Aglonie Breaux Bourgeois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Annette Esteve Breaux; and brother, Alfred Breaux.


He was a past member of the Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff’s Possie and the Lafourche Roping Club. He was an usher at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland. He worked at Sugarland Country Club and Winn Dixie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for mass.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, September 29, and 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland. Mass will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
