Lenten Gumbo served for 20 years, still going strong

Cecile Robichaux Deroche, 86, a native and resident of Montegut, La., died at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010.
Mrs. Deroche was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a choir member, played the organ and served as an Eucharistic minister. She was a postal worker for 35 years.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Alfred) Convenuto of Folsom, La., Roland Jr. (Peggy) of Montegut, Carolyn (Andrew) Hebert of Houma, Brian (Cindy) of Folsom and Becky (Joey) Dantin of Montegut; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Roland Hebert Sr.; second husband, Herbert DeRoche; parents, Ernest and Olga Falgout Robichaux; granddaughter, Natalie Elizabeth Hebert; brothers, Lloyd and Ernest Robichaux; and sister, Ruth Aucoin.
She is buried at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.
