Cecile “Teal” Melancon Cancienne, 87, a native of Donaldsonville, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Thursday, February 5.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Cancienne; daughters, Julie Prejean and Mary Alice Guidry; and grandchildren, Matt and Sarah Cancienne, Casey Prejean Alexander, Sonnie Prejean, Ryan Gaudet and Bradley and Brett Guidry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tom” Cancienne, parents, Sonny and Julia Sanchez Melancon; and brother, Earl Melancon Sr.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, February 9, at Thibodaux Funeral Home with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at St. Philomena Catholic Cemetery in Labadieville, La.
Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
