Benjamin joins CIS surgical staff

Charles (Charlie) P. Coan, 71, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., and a resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, April 18, at 11:20 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Esters Coan; sons, Patrick C. and Charles P. Coan both of Philadelphia; daughter, Patrick C. Tobin of Chesapeake, Va.; step-daughter, Angel W. Grant; sister, Patricia C. Smith of Philadelphia; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Patrick Sr. and Grace McDevitt Coan.
He was a retired submariner for the U.S. Navy and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Falgout Funeral Home’s Chapel with the funeral to follow. He will have a graveside service at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, La. Wednesday, April 23.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
