Clara Belle Gourgues, 92, a native of Larose, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, December 25, 2008.
She is survived by one son, Walter Gourgues; one daughter, Catherine Shaver and husband N. Charles; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Gourgues and Geneva Gourgues; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Ducos and Catherine Pittman Ducos; two sons, Kenneth Gourgues and Harold Gourgues; one grandson, Jay Gourgues; and two sisters, Verna Ducos and Mildred Summersgill.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with a memorial mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
