Clarence Y. Burdwell, 91, a native of Selma, La., and resident of Lockport, La., died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010.


Mr. Burdwell was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and Korea. He was a retired sergeant from the U.S. Army and a member of 32nd Degree Mason.

He is survived by his son, Terry Burdwell; daughters, Frances Ruth Parker, Jerry Parks and Pearl Lovie; sisters, Christine Symour and Elizabeth Burdwell; and 21 grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jessie Watson Burdwell; second wife, Frieda Allen Burdwell; parents, George and Rosie Sissium Burdwell; and five brothers, Christian, Sidney, Clyde, Calvin and Curtis Burdwell.

He is buried at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
