Clarence Harris Sr., 71, a native and resident of Schriever, La., died Saturday, November 1.


He is survived by his wife, Mary Smith Harris of Schriever; three daughters, Cynthia Livas of Schriever, Ernestine Samanie and Valarie Harris of Thibodaux, La.; three sons, Clarence Harris Jr. of Gray, La., Peter Harris of Schriever and Gregory Harris of Thibodaux; one brother, Ritney Harris of Schriever; 17 grandchildren; and 17great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and James Harris; seven brothers, Charleston Harris, Ellis Harris, Nick Harris, Albert Harris, Frank Harris, Joseph Harris and James Harris; and one sister, Ernestine Harris.

He was Baptist and served on the Deacon Board at Morning Star Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, at Morning Star Baptist Church on Johnson Ridge with the religious service to follow. Burial will be at Blue Lilly Cemetery on Johnson Ridge.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
