Clifford “Leon” Copeland, 63, a native of Bastrop, La., and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died at home surrounded by family at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, after a nine-year battle with cancer.


Mr. Copeland was a retired Texaco employee. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting.


He is survived by his wife, Peggy Copeland; daughter, Leslie (Shannon Cooper) Copeland; brother, Claude (Mary) Copeland; nephews, Shawn and Daniel Copeland; niece, Dana Hudson; and grandchild, Sam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Montene Copeland.

He is buried at Hebert Cemetery in Galliano.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
