Corestine “MaMa Tine” Muse, 95, a native of Napoleonville, La., and a resident of Paincourtville, La., died at Promise Hospital in Gonzales, La., Saturday, November 15.


She is survived by her husband, Griffin Muse Jr. of Paincourtville; two daughters and spouses, Cora Lee and Eugene Jones and Verina and Willie James, all of New Orleans, La.; one sister, Gertrude Hall of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Willie Williams Sr.; one son, Samuel Muse; and three brothers, Augusta, Willie and Ollie Williams.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Usher Board at St. Charles Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to wake services at 8 p.m. Friday, November 21, at St. Charles Baptist Church in Paincourtville. A religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22, at the church, with burial at the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
