Recovery’s been tough, but hospital emerges healthier

David “Pitter” Besson, 59, a native and resident of Labadieville, La., died Saturday, Sept. 5.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Prejeant Besson; one son, Blain Besson and wife Sami; one daughter, Stacey Besson Buxton and husband Scott; two brothers, Willie Besson and Huey “Johnny” Besson; three sisters, Barbera Cooley, Mary Louise “Susie” Dupre and Carrie Bourgeois; and seven grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Josie, Sadie, Cole, Kolbe and Kyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Besson Sr. and Lydia Besson Clause; two brothers, Gilbert “T-Boy” Besson Jr. and Edward Besson; and one sister, Rosamae Jones.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Landry’s Funeral Home in Labadieville. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville with burial at the church cemetery.
Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
